MOVIES European Union Film Festival 2016
SINGAPORE'S longest-running foreign film festival, the European Union Film Festival (EUFF), kicks off next week. Presenting the best of contemporary European cinema - from big-budget to arthouse - that rarely get screened outside of the continent, the 26th edition will focus on the Netherlands.
The line-up of award winners includes Admiral (2015), an epic Dutch historical drama which will open the festival with director Roel Reiné attending; and critically-acclaimed award-winning Ukrainian film The Tribe (2014), which is told entirely through sign language.
Other highlights are the French environmental documentary Tomorrow (2015), winner of Best Documentary at the 2016 César Awards in France and co-directed by internationally renowned actress Mélanie Laurent and Cyril Dion; and Sweden's Hotel (201…
