WITH his shock of blonde hair, you can't miss Thomas Lauderdale, the flamboyant founder and leader of Pink Martini, often referred to as Portland's famous "little orchestra" because of the lush music played by its 12 (and counting) members.
It comes as no surprise that his family history is as colourful. When he was around 10 years old and growing up with his three siblings - all adopted - his foster dad, a pastor, came out of the closet.
The gay pastor even went on to perform the wedding service for his former wife when she re-married.
