TWO plays from India - one based on a real-life story - will grace the stage in Singapore in the next few weeks. One is a love story about two poets (in Hindi) and the other, a contemporary play about a Mumbai family (in English).

The real-life love story of eminent poets Sahir Ludhianvi (1921-1980) and Amrita Pritam (1919-2015) inspired journalist/writer Saif Hyder Hasan to write, develop and direct Ek Mulaqaat.

"Because it's pure on the language and it's an unadulterated love story," he shares in an email interview.
