Peeling back a lifetime of hurt
PEOPLE never really know one another - even if they were once tied to each other by an umbilical cord.
In the intimate, intense drama The Last Supper by Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, a mother (Lui Si Lan) and her son Guo Xiong (Lau Shau Ching) learn more about each other over the course of one supper than they have in the course of a lifetime.
Indeed, their self-revelations shock each other, for they contradict crucial ideas these characters have had of the other for much of their lives. So when the truth comes out, so does immense heartbreak.
