FOR Spanish composer-conductor Luis Serrano Alarcon, completing the composition of the third part to Marco Polo - The Trilogy was akin to fulfilling a childhood dream.
He explains: "When I was 14 years old, I read Marco Polo many times, and there was also a 1982 TV series about his travels that I loved to watch. I remember thinking to myself that I'd like to write a piece about his travels in the future."
He started composing the first part in 2006 after he was approached by a fellow conductor entering a contest for an original composition in Valencia, Alarcon's place of residence.
