A Different View
We often see Singapore for what it is - a busy city that is hot and humid. But a group of seven disabled artists will show another side of the country through their eyes, in an exhibition titled The View From Here. The exhibition is presented by design agency Kinetic with local charity organisation Very Special Arts Singapore.
Pann Lim, co-founder of Kinetic, says that he was impressed by how this group of artists overcame their disabilities despite the challenges painting can bring, and was deeply moved by their passion for art.
Familiar yet fresh in perspective, Chang Kim Ngoh's painting of kampung life, Ng Siang Hoi's evocative paintings of old Singapore and Stanley Lim's striking scenery are just a few works visitors can look forward to. Kinetic will also unveil UOB Painting of the Year (1993) recipient Raymond Lau's newest painting, created especially for this exhibition.
