Asian Masterpieces
View rarely-seen works by Asia's greatest artists at Two Houses, a new exhibition at LASALLE's Institute of Contemporary Arts featuring the collections of John Chia and Yeap Lam Yang. Mr Chia and Mr Yeap are two of Singapore's most passionate collectors. Through this exhibition, they hope to reflect on the politics and histories of the greater Asian region.
Leading Singapore artists featured here include Lee Wen (pictured), Jeremy Hiah and Zai Kuning. The show also boasts important regional artists such as Semsar Siahaan, Elmer Bolongan, Qiu Zhijie, FX Harsono, Natee Utarit, Sopheap Pich and Shooshie Sulaiman. Some of these works have not been seen publicly for more than 20 years.
Two Houses runs from July 21 to Oct 10 at Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore at Gallery 1, Basement Level 1, LASALLE College of the Arts, 1 McNally Street. There will be an exhibition tour with Mr Chia and Mr Yeap together with curators Bala Starr and Melanie Pocock on July 21 from 5pm to 6.30pm.
