Since 2012, Singapore dance company Frontier Danceland has staged Milieu (previously known as Double Bill), its annual year-end production featuring longer works by local and foreign dance makers. This year, Milieu brings together two exciting choreographers, Marioenrico D'Angelo of Italy and Sita Ostheimer of Germany. D'Angelo makes his debut for Frontier with Skinny Dipping, a work about the initial fear and consequent freedom of letting go. Meanwhile, Ostheimer returns to Frontier after the successful premiere of Mangata in 2016. His new creation Nowhere But 2.5 Meters looks at the power and limitations of rhythm as a means of communication.
Milieu runs at the SOTA Studio Theatre on Nov 15 and 16 at 3pm and 8pm. Tickets at S$30 from Sistic.
