Last year, the internationally acclaimed choreographer Christian Rizzo was awarded the prestigious Fedora - Van Cleef & Arpels Prize for Ballet, which is given to the next generation of talented artists who will ensure the future of dance.

Rizzo, who is also the director of the well-known Centre Choregraphique National de Montpellier, is presenting the conclusion to his trilogy of "found" anonymous dances at the Singapore International Festival of Arts next week.

Titled Le Syndrome Ian, it features nine real-life nightclubbers dancing on stage. The work recalls an episode of Rizzo's own life, as it brings audiences back to the England of 1979 in a London club playing the sounds of the Joy Division.
