Dance Royalty
Some of the biggest names in dance are set to thrill at the Esplanade's da:ns festival. Don't miss international superstar Carlos Acosta (pictured) performing with his own company of dancers, Acosta Danza, on Oct 11 at the grand Esplanade Theatre. Acosta is one of the best male dancers of all time, often ranking a few notches below Mikhail Baryshnikov and Rudolf Nureyev. Also highly-anticipated is Hofesh Shechter, the Israeli dancer-choreographer who delivers a powerful creation titled Grand Finale, a dystopian look at many political and ecological issues plaguing the world right now. Besides the two, there's also Raimund Hoghe, Pina Bausch's dramaturg performing in his own Pas De Deux; as well as Filipino star Eisa Jocson examining entertainment labour in Princess.
Carlos Acosta performs tonight at the Esplanade Theatre. For more information on other works, visit esplanade.com. Tickets from Sistic.
