M+ For Art
If you're an art lover headed to Hong Kong, be sure to check out the terrific new show on South-east Asian art at M+, the contemporary art museum of West Kowloon Cultural District. The exhibition features 70 works by 28 artists, architects, and designers from nine South-east Asian countries, as well as Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and the United States.
Titled In Search of Southeast Asia through the M+ Collections, it looks into the historical and cultural richness of the region through an inter-disciplinary lens and a transnational framework. Some of the top names in the show include Rirkrit Tiravanija (whose work is featured here), Simryn Gill, Sopheap Pich, Chun Kai Feng, Zai Kuning, Charles Lim, Eko Nugroho and Maria Taniguchi.
The exhibit runs from now till Sept 30.
