Read Local
This weekend marks the inaugural #BuySingLit festival, a movement to get Singaporeans to buy and read a local work of literature. The homegrown scene has been thriving in the past decade, with internationally-praised writers such as Sonny Liew, Balli Kaur Jaswal and Desmond Kon Zhicheng-Mingdé. The festival features more than 40 events happening island-wide, from book fairs at Raffles City and Gillman Barracks to meet-the-author sessions involving Catherine Lim and others.
