Soak in the Chinese New Year spirit at Gardens by the Bay, which has planned a 'Spring Surprise' of free performances for visitors to enjoy. Catch the debut of the "Golden Pyro Dragon Dance", performed by the Tian Eng Dragon & Lion Dance Centre and marks the first time cold pyrotechnics are used in a dragon dance in Singapore. Expect a dazzling show complete with a 14-metre-long dragon under a shower of fireworks-like sparkles. Don't miss "The Story of Nian" either - it's a colourful retelling of a Chinese folk legend about the origins of Chinese New Year traditions. Think plenty of elaborate costumes and full-on pageantry as produced by Dick Lee Asia.
Spring Surprise is on now until Feb 9 at various timings. Visit gardensbythebay.com.sg for details.
