The big 3-0
The Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) celebrates its 30th anniversary with a gala performance of four strong works. They include a brand new work by Timothy Harbour, the resident choreographer of The Australian Ballet, as well as the company premiere of Nils Christe's SYNC, originally created for The Washington Ballet.
SDT is Singapore's first professional dance company and was co-founded by Goh Soo Khim and Anthony Then. It made its debut in June 1988 at the Victoria Theatre, and has since grown in stature. Goh is the sister of the late Goh Choo San, an iconic figure in Singapore's dance history. In memory of the latter, the company will present two of his most beloved works, Double Contrasts (pictured) and Configurations pas de deux at the 30th anniversary gala.
The SDT 30th Anniversary Gala takes place on July 27 - 28 at the Esplanade Theatre. Tickets from Sistic.
