When up-and-coming illustrator Wu Yanrong found out that less than 5 per cent of the sea has actually been explored, she became so curious about marine life that she even made a book about it for a school project.

Since then, she has been researching and painting ocean creatures, so it's only natural that her first solo exhibition is dedicated to them. Marine Fantastic: An Illustrated Introduction to Crustaceans is all about life in the sea, with a spotlight on her favourite creatures, crabs and shrimps. But rather than whetting one's appetite for a seafood meal, Wu hopes that her paintings will inspire visitors to have a more caring attitude towards the environment.

Marine Fantastic is on till Dec 17, at K+ Curatorial Space, Scotts Square, #03-11
