WITH the right platform, why can't fashion designers also make art? The line between fashion and art is, after all, a very thin one.
One East Asia has made that platform available to five Singapore-based fashion designers, and the result is rather refreshing. There is shaped canvas, computer graphic prints on acid paper and also hand-drawn sketches, besides actual fashion pieces and accessories on display and for sale.
The participating designers are Pauline Lim of label pauline.ning, Priscilla Tan of Chalk, Rayson Tan of RAYSON TAN, Joanne Loh of UNCVRD and Kaehana of Kae.Hana. These designers first started out at Parco next Next, a joint initiative between Parco (Singapore) Pte Ltd and the Textile & Fashion Federation (TaFf).
