WHEN Wang Jianlin, the richest person in China, bought a 20 per cent stake in Atletico Madrid three weeks ago, he described the 45-million-euro (S$69 million) investment in the Spanish football club as a bargain.
The 60-year-old real estate mogul is known for his business acumen, having built up a fortune worth an estimated US$28 billion. Whatever he touches, he wants to turn it into gold.
