CROCODILE safaris for big game hunters could be under way in Australia's tropical north by the end of the year, providing much needed revenue to aboriginal communities, a government minister said on Tuesday.

Trophy hunts were knocked back by the government in early 2014, with Environment Minister Greg Hunt saying they were inappropriate and risked "cruel and inhuman" behaviour.
