Benjamin Millepied may have become a household name after he married Natalie Portman. But the dancer-choreographer was a bona fide star long before he met the Oscar-winning actress.
Millepied was a principal dancer of the New York City Ballet and artistic director of the Paris Opera Ballet before founding the LA Dance Project, which is making waves in the world of ballet and contemporary dance. Now he's bringing four exquisite pieces to the Esplanade's da:ns festival, which include a tribute to Martha Graham and two works set to Philip Glass' gorgeous music.
LA Dance Project performs at the Esplanade Theatre on Oct 24 and 25 at 8pm. Tickets from Sistic.
