WE ALWAYS lament that technology is taking over our lives, but we have to admit that it has also made life a lot easier. Of course, much of that comes from well-designed products that take the tedium out of everyday tasks. This week, BT Lifestyle looks at how robotics and artificial intelligence have played a role in creating this year’s Red Dot Award: Design Concept winning entries – featuring simple yet elegant designs that make everyday living a little more convenient.
The award, which seeks to identify and celebrate new design concepts and innovations from around the world, honours the top concepts with a Red Dot: Best of the Best accolade. We highlight a few of our favourites which we think should go into production, pronto.
Meanwhile, if you’re of a certain vintage, you might remember Talentime, a local TV singing contest that was popular in Singapore way back in the 60s and 70s. For a blast from the past, several former participants – Max Surin, Clement Chow, Ann Hussein, Gerry Rezel and Faridah Ali – have come together for a reunion performance.
And in Dining, dig into something substantial – like a nice hunk of steak at 54° Steakhouse – and find out for yourself if that’s really the ideal temperature for perfectly grilled meat.
For all this and more, don’t miss BT Lifestyle this week.
