SINGAPORE Art Week is back in full swing this weekend, running from Jan 19 to 28. BT Lifestyle on Friday brings you a guide to the city’s biggest celebration of visual arts, with some 150 events featuring hundreds of artists taking place.

Highlights include two art fairs – Art SG and SEA Focus – and a sprawling joint exhibition of African and Asian art across several spaces in Gillman Barracks. Singapore also debuts long-running global art awards such as VH Award and Prix Pictet, along with several strong exhibitions taking place in industrial estates.

For property owners, building one’s own house means having the luxury of designing it to one’s specifications. This week’s Design spotlight is on a semi-detached home in Sunset Way that slowly reveals the owner’s personality on each floor.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese band Mayday delighted about 80,000 fans last weekend when they brought the house down at the National Stadium as part of their Nowhere world tour. Read our recap of what went down that night.

In Dining, get a taste of Asian food with colonial influence at new restaurant Entrepot in Robertson Quay and learn more about French Sauvignon Blanc at the same time. For all this and more, get your issue of BT this Friday.
