THE downsizing trend has been so successful in replacing larger engines with smaller and more efficient turbocharged units that hardly anyone bats an eyelid when it is done these days. But once in a while, a manufacturer still manages to spring a surprise. One such application is by Jaguar, which has introduced a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine for its flagship XJ saloon.
