Bigger but still as authentic and original

NOBODY likes a band that sells out commercially and given how much the xx's fan base has grown since its self-titled debut in 2009, it's tempting to accuse the South London trio of that.

After all, it didn't feel that long when they were the new kids on the Britpop block opening for Florence and the Machine at the Esplanade in 2010.

Fast forward seven years later and the group comprising vocalist-guitarist Romy Madley Croft, vocalist-bassist Oliver Sim and programmer-producer Jamie Smith (aka Jamie xx) was headlining its biggest show to date here at a near-capacity Singapore Indoor Stadium on Tuesday night.
