Bigger turnout for BT Club’s art gallery hop this year
The 2024 edition also came with a Japanese twist
A GROUP of 40 Business Times readers enjoyed an afternoon of sake and art at Gillman Barracks recently. The event was part of the Singapore Gallery Month and took place on Sep 28.
It was also a follow-up to last October’s gallery hop which included wine tastings at various stops.
This year’s event drew twice as many attendees, and everyone had the unique opportunity to explore the intricate world of sake while engaging with contemporary art.
Participants were guided through three galleries, where they interacted directly with artists, Ruben Pang and Tay Wei Leng, who shared insights about their works.
Each gallery visit was complemented by tastings of diverse sake brands curated by Sakesho, a new app designed to simplify the sake experience for a wider audience.
From the elegant Hakugakusen to the versatile Shinrai, each sake offered a distinct flavour profile, inviting participants to explore the nuances of this beloved Japanese spirit.
Attendees left with enriched knowledge and a newfound appreciation for both the artistry of sake and the vibrant local art scene, making the event a true fusion of sensory experiences.
