BT Club exclusive: Crack the pumpkin sourdough code
Learn to bake @bespokebreadsg’s coveted loaf of bread in this one-off, hands-on workshop
[SINGAPORE] It is the loaf of bread everyone admires but no one knows how to make. Until now.
This September, BT Club members will get the inside scoop on baking a pumpkin-shaped sourdough from Karen Ng, who used to sell it but never taught others how to make it.
The self-taught baker and founder of Bespoke Bread will also be the first Singaporean to compete in the Panettone World Cup finals in Milan later this year. On weekends, she runs a perennially sold-out baking school from her home, with sourdough classes that rank among Singapore’s best.
Sourdough’s allure goes beyond its rustic charm and chewy texture. Fermented to develop a distinctive tang, it’s prized for both its flavour and perceived health benefits.
In this one-off BT Club event, participants will make the pumpkin sourdough from scratch while learning to mix, fold, shape and score like a pro. Sourdough waffles will also be served as a breakfast snack.
Only eight seats are available. Get ready to leave with your freshly baked loaf, a live starter, and the skill to recreate this showstopping bread for years to come.
The BT Club Baking Experience takes place on Sep 14 (Sunday) from 9 am. Sign up now.
