Hublot's purple dreams
A sapphire crystal watch and sculpted bracelet are just some of its new dazzlers.
EXPERTISE, EXPERIENCE AND COLLABORATION - Hublot leveraged all 3 of its strengths to produce an eye-catching new collection that, among others, boasts a sapphire complication in a brilliant hue, a pure ceramic watch and a bracelet designed by a bestselling artist.
BIG BANG TOURBILLON AUTOMATIC PURPLE SAPPHIRE
This is the world's first sapphire watch in purple - and a tourbillon with an automatic movement to boot. Hublot is justified then, to launch it with yes, a big bang.
The Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Purple Sapphire is about more than just colour. It showcases the brand's tireless research and development, which has made it one of the leading and most disruptive watch names of the new millennium.
For Hublot, innovation is a journey it has been on since 2016, when the first Big Bang watch in a sapphire case was rolled out. It's a mistake to think it was done after the launch of the last Big Bang Automatic in orange sapphire. Hublot has continued to innovate with the synthetic crystal - and the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Purple Sapphire is the latest fruits of its work. The case and bezel of the new watch, in particular, are finely polished sapphire complemented by six H-shaped titanium screws that are so specific to the iconic Big Bang design. Hublot has also capitalised on its 15 years of expertise in building tourbillon to produce a self-winding movement for the complication, which usually runs on a hand-winding mechanism. By marrying a traditional complication (the tourbillon) with a disruptive material (sapphire) in a totally exclusive colour, the brand has reaffirmed its motto: to be first, unique and different.

BIG BANG INTEGRAL CERAMIC
What makes this chronograph watch so integral? Firstly, its monobloc architecture which fuses the bracelet to the case. Secondly, the timepiece is mono material - made from ceramic. And thirdly, it comes in 4 monochrome colours - blue indigo, sky blue, sand beige and jungle green. A strong aesthetic for a watch with clearly defined lines, fully integrated in ceramic, with the exception of the composite lugs, pushers and crown over-moulded with rubber. The Big Bang Integral Ceramic chronograph is a limited edition of 250 pieces for each of the 4 colours. Housed in its 42mm wide case is a self-winding movement with a power reserve of 72 hours. The timepiece is worn with an integrated bracelet that has 3 bevelled and chamfered links with polished and satin-finished surfaces.
Price: S$33,800.
CLASSIC FUSION ORLINSKI BRACELET
Hublot's collaboration with contemporary French artist Richard Orlinski has given life to a collection of watches that display the angular style typical of his work. In a new phase of the partnership, they have presented 4 versions of the Classic Fusion Orlinski Bracelet fitted watch with a new integrated metallic bracelet. The bracelet, which is composed of 83 parts, features an architecture that's "bevelled and faceted" in titanium. Inspired by Orlinski's sculptures, its chamfered forms play with the reflections of its mirror-polished facets. The H-shaped links recall the Hublot logo. The watch sports a 40mm titanium case and runs on an automatic movement with 42 hours of power reserve. The dial comes in a choice of black or white ceramic and displays the angular facets unique to Orlinski. There's also a jewelled model of the Classic Fusion Orlinski Bracelet timepiece, which is decorated with diamonds totalling a weight of 3.79 carats.
Price: S$22,000 (titanium or titanium white), S$63,200 (titanium alternative pave or titanium white alternative pave).
