Celebrating the day of the dad
IT’S Father’s Day this weekend, and we’re going all paternal in Friday’s issue of BT Lifestyle.
First up, we’re talking to several men whose lives have been shaped by their family patriarch, or who hope to pass down life’s lessons to their own children. Among them are Phillip Capital’s CEO Linus Lim, who learnt the importance of grit and perseverance; National Gallery Singapore and Singapore Art Museum CEO Eugene Tan, whose daughter’s immersion in art as a child led her to pursue its history in university; and architect Rene Tan, whose artistic side was nurtured by a father who loved jazz and art.
And if you’re thinking of what to get that special man on his special day? We’ve got a list of suggestions. In Design, we head to a house of hobbies – or rather, a detached house which has been designed around its owner’s hobbies which include cycling, fishing, and collecting rare fish and other collectibles.
Last, in Dining, we check out Sushi Ryujiro, one of the newest Tokyo restaurant offshoots in town, to see if it matches up to its Japanese flagship.
For all this and more, check out this Friday’s BT.
