Changing the world with his documentaries
Dylan Tan
THOMAS Morgan doesn't just make documentaries - the former real estate developer and investment banker's works have been labelled "filmanthropy" because they have a ripple effect, going on to create movements and calls to action.
In the award-winning Waiting for Mamu (2013), he raised money to build a permanent home for children living behind bars with their parents in Kathmandu while in Storied Streets (2014), he petitioned and pushed for laws to make violence against the homeless in America a hate crime.
He hopes to do the same with his latest - India's Daughter, which he executive-produced with Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon.
