[SINGAPORE] The festive season has come early to the Marina Bay waterfront, with more than 70 Christmas trees adorning the walkways as part of the annual ChariTrees fundraising event.

This year, the goal is to raise S$1 million. The amount will benefit four long-time partner charities, including The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF) and disability services and support organisation SPD.

Under the returning theme “Blossom of Hope”, ChariTrees 2025 continues to embody the belief that every act of kindness helps.

Tan Puay Kern, chairman of the ChariTrees 2025 organising committee, said: “The theme… represents our collective journey of growth and giving.”

This year marks the 15th edition of the event. The lighting of the trees was officiated by former Singapore president Halimah Yacob, who is also the chancellor of the Singapore University of Social Sciences.

The trees are on display until Dec 26.
