THE challenge in teeing off at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort is that no matter where you look, you are bound to be distracted.

In one direction, golfers are awed by the transcendental Knuckles mountain range. Look the other way and the picturesque Victoria Reservoir cries out for your attention. So, while you may want to take in the scenic hills of Digana, part of the central mountains of Sri Lanka near the ancient city of Kandy, your golf game may be at stake.

The 18-hole course was designed by world famous golf course architects, Donald Steel and Martin Ebert. Spread out over 520 acres, Victoria was the first course to be built in Sri Lanka in over a century.
