THE laureates of this year’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry were inadvertently disclosed in an e-mail before the committee had even met to formally decide on the winners, state broadcaster SVT reported.
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm on Wednesday (Oct 4) sent out an e-mail, which gave the names of scientists awarded with the chemistry prize, the media said.
The academy has not made a decision yet, a spokeswoman said by phone when contacted by Bloomberg.
According to Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, the laureates are Moungi G Bawendi from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Louis E Brus from Columbia University and Alexey I Ekimov from research company Nanocrystals Technology. BLOOMBERG
