Classical music amid lush greenery
ONCE a year, the sounds of tenors and sopranos would fill the air at Singapore Botanic Gardens, as the Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO) brings Mozart and Rossini songs to life there.
As the opera company notes, its productions at the Botanic Gardens removes a formal barrier - so that you can come as you are to listen to 18th and 19th century classical music amid lush tropical greenery.
This is the 10th anniversary of SLO's Opera in the Park. It started its outreach programme a decade ago with the aim to bring the opera experience to a wider audience, as they are also encouraged to have a picnic with their family and friends while soaking in the music performed by many of Singapore's local vocal talents.
