In competitive mode
AFTER two rounds, Team Cerebos are feeling excited about lying in seventh position on the table. "Last year we played in the social category and didn't feel the buzz so we had already decided last year that we would come back to the competitive category in 2015," explains team captain Daniel Quek. The line-up is similar to last year's comprising Cerebos' management and key stakeholders, and Mr Quek is quick to praise all members for their willingness to take time out from their busy schedules.
"They really exemplify the Yatte Minahare (Go For It) spirit. This spirit has been a motivator for our Suntory Group's corporate culture and the challenges we set ourselves to create new value", he says.
"There are no specific strategies other than to depend on the determination and drive of our team members. We are always encouraging each other and sharing golfing tips. Of course it's now a tradition for all our Team Cerebos players to down a Brand's Essence of Chicken before the game to keep them mentally alert and fully charged." As well as the League bringing together the business community as participants and sponsors, Team Cerebos have also been impressed with the pairings format which facilitates interaction, learning and idea-exchanging. "Moreover the two categories, competitive and social, have allowed more companies the chance to play in the league and benefit from the networking, enjoy the camaraderie and golf at a comfortable level," says Mr Quek.
