Cool Cats
Lucky felines roam Takashimaya to boost your fortune.
LET FORTUNE LEAD you on through Takashimaya as the Japanese department store hosts an exhibition of 200 Lucky Cats in conjunction with Singapore's bicentennial year.
Based on the Japanese Lucky Cat, or maneki-neko - a symbol of prosperity and harmony - Takashimaya worked with 200 Institute of Technical Education design students to come up with their own Uniquely Singapore interpretations of the feline figure.
All 200 cats are up for auction with a starting bid price of S$20 each. The proceeds will benefit aspiring young artists and ITE students in Singapore via The Business Times Budding Artists Fund as well as the ITE Education Fund.
