ABBA ONCE SANG: "Money money money / Must be funny / In the rich man's world." But unless you were truly wealthy, you never quite knew how "funny" that world could be - until now.

HBO's much talked-about series Succession recently concluded its second season. And the show about 1 percenters has all kinds of funny. There's the ha-ha kind of funny (its sharp-tongued characters have some of the wittiest lines in TV history); the strange funny (why are they so unhappy when they're always sipping champagne in private jets and limos, one wonders); and the scary funny (the characters engage in cutthroat competition for the top prize).

Of course, most wealthy people don't live this way. We know many who lead perfectly comfortable, balanced and fulfilled lives. But Succession isn't interested in the happy ones because, well, where's the drama in that? So it turns its attention to the unhappy ones instead.
