Creative capital

AS they say, creativity has no bounds. And no one knows that better than a motley group of designers who started out in one field and then discovered they could do even more in other disciplines. Such is the case with Gabriel Tan, a product designer who was making furniture until he realised he was good at interior design as well. Now, he also designs for eateries as disparate as Bella Pasta and Burger King. Or Cherin Tan, who started out as a principal in an interior architecture firm but whose recycling instincts inspired her to start an upcycled furniture and home accessories collection.

In tomorrow's BTLifestyle, we put the spotlight on five such designers who think out of the box and are creating some cool things in the process.

Meanwhile, in the arts, the death of British stage doyenne Helen McCrory at 52 years of age shocked theatre lovers everywhere. We take a look at her career and a retrospective of her work.

Lastly, we continue our home dining adventure with a spotlight on beef, and the many delicious ways in which you can have your favourite meat delivered to your dining table.
