This Dane's not giving up the fight

LIFE isn't easy when you're at the top. Just ask Caroline Wozniacki, the Danish tennis star who once held the world number one ranking for 49 weeks in a row.

Defeat an opponent and people might barely bat an eyelid. Lose, and the critics come out in full force with their knives freshly sharpened.

Wozniacki - in town this week at the invitation of Sport Singapore and the Singapore Tourism Board - recounts one particular loss at a tournament several years ago where she was the top seed but lost her match to the world number two player.
