Danish delight

COLLECTOR Lynette Wong fell in love with classic Danish furniture about a decade ago, and began searching for some of its rarest pieces at auctions in Europe.
She says: "They're elegant, simple and compact. But they don't just look great, they're amazingly functional. When you sit on an old Danish chair, for instance, the small of your back fits into it perfectly."
The pieces date back to the modern era of the 1940 to 1970s, and have developed a luxuriously cosy patina as only quality furniture can. Ms Wong has collected so many that she is putting 30 pieces for sale in a Pan Pacific penthouse starting this weekend. They include chairs, sideboards and dressing tables.
