Defending champs widen lead

AT THE halfway mark of the competition, it's a familiar name standing alone at the top of the Business Times Corporate Golf League ladder. Winners in 2012 and 2013, Team SunMoon have surged ahead, producing the highest score (108) in Tuesday's round on Tanah Merah Country Club's Garden Course. Sitting seven points ahead of SPH Sultans of Swing, the team has put themselves in a commanding position to win the league for the third year in a row.

"I feel good, though we are not taking our feet off the accelerator and want to keep our noses ahead," says Team SunMoon member Gary Loh, who, together with captain Tan Teck Lee and two guests, scored impressively with 34, 34, 37 and 37.

"For future rounds, we want to play as well as we can and also enjoy ourselves. We hope we can win again this year and we're definitely putting in the effort. It's not easy as the golf courses are challenging, plus there are other great teams and players in the competition. Let's try and achieve it and maybe in 2015, we will play socially rather than competitively."
