DIRECTOR Guy Unsworth believes the upcoming play Hand to God has something his Singapore audience can relate to.

The American play is set in a devoutly religious and relatively small town, so he thinks it would speak to Singapore, a small, close-knit community that is multi-religious to boot.

Mr Unsworth says: "I saw the play in London and it fascinated me. But London is multicultural and international, and largely not religious; plus it has such a huge population as well. Although Singapore has a very international community, there is a stronger religious presence here from various faiths, not just from Christianity."
