A Gathering Space
This apartment is designed for home entertaining.
IT DOESN'T SOUND like much, but all Maggie Tum wanted for her new home was a bigger kitchen, a proper sofa and a dining table.
That's because, her husband Dennis Cheok explains, their previous apartment was so small that the sofa was actually a daybed, and the dining table had been fashioned from crates.
So Mr Cheok, creative director of design firm Upstairs_, set out to make his TV graphic designer wife's wishes come true at the three bedroom apartment at Spottiswoode Park they share with their eight-year-old daughter Trevi.
