Decorating for luck
For this family, the Chinese New Year celebrations are about keeping traditions alive.
LIKE most Chinese households, Genevieve Chang and her family are adapting their Chinese New Year celebrations this year to meet pandemic restrictions.
The first activity to go is their annual lion dance at home. "We contacted our usual lion dance troupe and gathered the neighbours, so that the lion dancers can go from door to door. But two days after the confirmation, the government announced that there would be no lion dances visiting households," says Ms Chang, founder of De Kinder Club, an experiential learning centre for kids.
While she's a little disappointed, Ms Chang isn't letting pandemic limitations get in the way of lunar new year.
