Archifest 2018 is about making life better, not just creating buildings
The colourful flats at Rochor Centre may be in the midst of being demolished, but for 13 days from Sept 28, you get to recreate the structures at a specially built pavilion at the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza.
The Pavilion, designed like a HDB void deck, is the anchor event space for this year's Archifest, the annual festival that celebrates architecture and the built environment.
Designed by Kite Studio Architecture, the facade of the Pavilion is created by skewering three-hole bricks through rebar cages anchored by mild steel plates. For a small donation, you get to paint the bricks to recreate the look of Rochor Centre.
