Somewhere in the Bukit Timah area, between the Sixth Avenue and King Albert Park MRT stations, is what looks like your conventional two-storey good class bungalow. But go round to the side for a closer look, and you'll discover that it's actually two houses built on a single plot of land, connected by a concrete bridge.
In a perfect example of multigenerational living, businessman Michael Mun and his wife live in the house in front, while their second son and his family occupy the house behind. They have two other children - the oldest son is based in China and returns occasionally, while the youngest son and his family live not too far away.
The Muns have lived in this house for over 20 years and love the location for its convenience and amenities. What they didn't like so much was the old house and its leaky roof, so, three years ago, Mr Mun decided it was time to rebuild.
