Do you have what it takes to be the Next Generation Singapore Designer? That is what design publication Wallpaper* and the DesignSingapore Council are on the hunt for.
The top prize is a coveted opportunity to exhibit at Singapore Design Week 2019 and Milan Design Week 2019. The winning work will be shown at the Wallpaper* Handmade 2019 exhibition, featuring one-off pieces made by designers and makers from around the world.
For 2018, winner Edmund Zhang showcased his Squeezy Lamp, an LED desk lamp that gets brighter with every squeeze. Wallpaper* requires designers to send in portfolios of their best work and proposals for the redesign or re-imagination of an everyday object. This is an item that may have been regarded as an unappreciated thing of beauty or dismissed as an aesthetically overlooked, under-used functional classic. Entries close on June 30.
