Dogs with disabilities in the spotlight
IT'S not unnatural for someone to assume that a three-legged dog would have some difficulty moving around. Writer Lillian Wang thought so too. Until she adopted one.
But her mongrel, Trip, quickly proved to be as active and lively as any other dog. She says: "I didn't know much about three-legged dogs back then. I thought he wouldn't run around as much, but I was wrong."
Wang later started Three Legs Good, a local charity for injured and disabled dogs, where one of their missions is to dispel that very misconception. Their other mission is to encourage people to adopt mongrels.
