Don't mistake narcissism for competence

FOR better or worse, I grew up hearing my misanthrope dad - I say this in the most affectionate way possible - rant about how you cannot trust people in this world.

Those who rank particularly high on his hate list: people in suit and tie, people who use a lot of "bombastic words" when they talk, and charismatic people. God forbid if they all come together in one package.

For context, he is a blue-collar worker with little education. He doesn't elaborate, but I'm sure he has had much experience being talked down to by snooty elitists who fit the above criteria in his workplace and elsewhere.
