CHRISTMAS is a time of feasting and celebration, but does it always have to be a season of excess and wastage? Even as you look forward to dinner tables heaving with turkey and ham and plenty of presents under the tree – not to mention leftovers and reams of torn wrapping paper – spare a thought for the environment and consider ways to make the holidays more sustainable.

In Friday’s issue of BT Lifestyle, we offer ways to have a greener Christmas without losing the magic of the season. From eco-friendly trees to conscious feasting, there’s more we can do to make our celebrations kinder to the planet than we think.

Meanwhile, if you’re still racking your brains for gift ideas for friends and loved ones, we offer a quickie last-minute guide to designer bags, accessories and other trinkets that anyone would like to receive. For watch-lovers, we take a look at some lesser known brands that make sophisticated complications at prices that are much more affordable.

And in Dining, ’tis the season for comfort dining, and we head to casual eatery Atipico in New Bahru for its hearty cooking and top-notch baked goods. For a taste of Christmas and more, don’t miss Friday’s issue of BT.
