WHAT makes you keep going back to a restaurant? The food for sure, but great service and ambience also boost its appeal.
While there's always the pressure to keep the quality of their cuisine at the highest level, restaurants are increasingly splurging on interior design as well for the complete dining experience. As Singapore raises its game as an international F&B destination thanks to its stable of Michelin stars, the newer crop of eateries in town have raised the bar decor-wise, which makes dining out now a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach.
In Friday's issue of Weekend magazine, we speak to chefs and restaurateurs who believe that good design sets the tone for the culinary experience and concept. So much so that chef-restaurateur Beppe De Vito sank a good S$5 million to outfit his flagship restaurant Aura, and Cloudstreet's Rishi Naleendra hired a top design company to translate his vision into reality.
