YOU can try but chances are you won't be able to resist the scruffy charms of Ed Sheeran.
Just look at the 10,000-strong crowd that fell under his spell during the first of his sold-out two-night-stand at the Singapore Indoor Stadium last Saturday.
The ginger-haired singer-songwriter's fans might be predominantly female but even the reluctant boyfriends and husbands who got dragged along (and would rather be "watching the England v Argentina" rugby game on at the same time, joked Sheeran midway through the performance) all pretty much looked like they were converted into Sheerios (the nickname for Sheeran diehards) by the end of the 90-minute show.
